DUBLIN, Ireland: A man in his 30s has been arrested after about 75kg of suspected herbal cannabis, worth an estimated 1.5 million euros, was seized in north Dublin. He is currently being held at a garda station in Dublin.

This comes after two other men were arrested in separate cases involving cannabis seizures in County Dublin and Limerick.

In one case, a man in his 30s was arrested after around 20kg of suspected herbal cannabis, valued at about 400,000 euros, was found in west Dublin on Friday. In a follow-up search by An Garda Síochána, another 20kg of suspected cannabis, also worth about 400,000 euros, was seized.

In a separate operation in County Limerick, about 22.5kg of suspected herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of 450,000 euros, was seized. A man in his 30s was also arrested in connection with this case.

These arrests were the result of joint operations carried out by the Revenue Customs Service and An Garda Síochána.

Earlier this week, two British men who were caught bringing nearly 1 million euros' worth of cocaine into the country were sentenced to six years in prison.

Philip Clarke, 34, and Adrian Leszczynski, 25, both admitted to having cocaine for sale or supply on August 25, 2025, at Dublin Port.

The Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard that customs officers stopped a Ford Focus driven by Leszczynski after arriving on a ferry from Cherbourg. When asked, both men said they had nothing to declare.

However, a search of the car found a hidden compartment in the boot containing 13.9kg of cocaine, worth about 978,300 euros. A tracking device was also found on the car.

One of the men told customs officers he was delivering a car from Spain to Ireland and expected to be paid between 1,200 euros and 1,500 euros. He said he did not know there were illegal items in the car but accepted responsibility for what was inside.

The other man said he was just a passenger and was on holiday with his friend.
